Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she had a talent for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first trial she took, she was ranked second for 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003, signed the sports contract with Adidas. Then she attended the University of Southern California and completed her studies in elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic prize at the 2004's Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s and set an all-time junior world record. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to win the 200 meter race. In 2007 she defended the title by beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at the Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three in all her races.
